I know you have all been waiting patiently for photos ... I have them, I promise. I have to upload them all and resize them in order to post them here so it's a real pain for me. I will do it soon. Someday. Eventually.
But necessary.... Rori is cheering on two teams right now. She is on a mid-season All Star team at Freedom Athletics (aka Freedom) and a youth team in Rockledge (aka Raiders). The youth team has decided to take a squad of 17 girls to some competitions. WOW are they expensive. The coaches, bless their hearts, are offering to cover the entire cost ($1100 for 1 competition). However I am working on some fundraiser options to mitigate this cost and the cost for the upcoming season of youth cheer.
For those of you who don't know .. and really who does, since this poor little blog only manges 3 followers (thanks to you !!) .. I sell Scentsy Wickless Candles. The kids are all back in school. YEAH! Of course this has it's own challenges but all in all I am glad that we have returned to our regularly scheduled life. Quite frankly so is my grocery budget - at least when the are in school they are not raiding the fridge and pantry all day.
Emma had dance class this morning and its time to start getting ready for recital. She has her I like it and I don't like it days so we will see if she sticks with it next year. I really would like her too but we shall see.
Rori is practicing with a midseason cheer squad and she loves it. She has been a bit wishy washy about trying out for the competition team but after practice Friday she seemed to have decided to give tryouts a go. Her current endeavor in school is studying for the spelling bee.
Riley is finally smiling in her tumbling class so that is a good sign that she is finally enjoying herself. She is doing well in school but her handwriting is terrible.
Tara is all signed up for lacrosse beginning next month and she is still participating in running club and strings at school. She is having a great time in the 6th grade.
Micaela is making her speaking debut in this spring's play. It's the 5th show she has participated in at Edgewood and she was determined to land a speaking role. She did it and she is excited about it. She is still playing the violin as well.
Jack. That is all I can say about him. He is in full time day care now and he really likes it and they like him. When he is at home he specializes in counter surfing and harassing his sisters. He really is a pro.
The last couple of days have been a bit cool - this is our Florida cold spell. I still can't wait for it to pass though.
It seems like the kids have been home on Winter Break forever. They all go back to school on Monday and while Christmas was wonderful I am so ready to get back to a set routine. They are sleeping till noon and staying away all night. I am not on break so no sleep for me means sluggish work days. It really isn't much fun at all for me. Of course, this end of break means everything gets back into full swing; drama, cheerleading, dance, tumbling and running club. We will be adding Lacrosse to the mix in February. Tara has been to a few clinics and has found that she enjoys the sport and she is looking forward to learning to play. Rori made an all-star cheerleading squad and she loves it. She started cheering in August with a youth league and it was love at first "sight". We are going to keep being one busy family but it is really great seeing the kids find somethings that they have a passion for and developing those skills.
Read more...On the first day of 2012 .. what am I doing???? Nothing unusual. Mic is at a friend's house and Rori is at the "weekend" house. Emma Leigh has a friend over and Jack is STILL in bed. YEP .. it's noon here in sunny Florida. He is still in bed and I know without a doubt that I will certainly regret letting him sleep this late at bed time tonight but for right now I am enjoying not chasing him around. The last time I posted on this blog was .. YIKES .. over 2 years ago !! I won't be making any lame attempts to catch up with the last two years of birthdays, activities, and funny stories. My new year's resolution is to get back to blogging about the life and times of five princesses and a pirate. And holy moly .. you should check him out now .. two years old and terrible !!!
