Cancel Everything

Everything has been cancelled around here thanks to Tropical FLOOD Fay.   The girls are getting a do-over for the whole first week of school.  The attended on Monday and the rest of the week was cancelled.  Can you imagine how CRAZY the girls are having been stuck in the house for the last 3 days !  They got about 30 minutes yesterday to run in and out of the light rain and about 30 minutes today. The TV needs a break.  Here are a couple photos of the mosquito breeding pools in my backyard.

Entenmann's ... YUMMY

The local "day old" bread store is an Entenmann's Outlet. Mic and I ran over and grabbed some donuts, loaf cakes and bread. I made the mistake of leaving a chocolate chip loaf cake on the counter and turning my back.

Emma Leigh opened the box (and left it on the counter) and made off with the cake. We found her in her bedroom sneaking a little taste.

When she turned around and saw us she said, "MMMM Yummy !"

Friday the 15th

Friday 8/15 was the first day that the girls went to the babysitter while Tim and I worked. They all got to go since we did not start school until Monday.

Usually Emma Leigh throws a huge fit and screams at Miss Patty. This after Patty has been watching them all summer and the child still makes a scene. Things went pretty good since Mic was there and when I picked them up they were all filthy. Evidence of a lot of outside fun.

The girls had a great time and fell asleep on the way home.

I got a ....

DAY JOB ... I am pretty sure that this was just a fluke but it is a great thing. I interviewed for and landed a position in Career Development at the Sheriff's Office. After 10 years in dispatch, I finally have a day job.

No weekends. No holidays. No hurricanes.

I can't tell you how wonderful this is for the family. I have a great boss that is flexible with my hours and I am able to do things with and for the girls that I have not been able to do before. I am looking forward to helping with homework this year, being home for dinner, bath and bedtime and living a normal life. It will be better since Tim still works and odd schedule and will be subject to recall in emergencies.

This will take a tiny bit of getting used to but all in all - it is going to be GREAT.

Catching up !

Things have been absolutely hectic and almost unbearable. We were planning on staying for another year at our rental house in Titusville, but the owner decided that they wanted to move back in. So naturally, that meant that we had to move out. The search for some place to live took us near and far and far and well, every where really.

We discussed the pros and cons of each house we looked at (3 total) and the areas that they were located in ... we discussed how awful moving was until we finally had to chuck things in boxes. I worried until I ached and Tim just kept insisting it would all work out the way "it is supposed to"! (He worried too, but does a great job of disguising it.)

We had a ton of circumstances to deal with and in the end everything worked out ... (you guessed it) ... the way it was supposed to

We are still unpacking and hoping to find all of the kids soon before school starts. I mean, the kids' things... =-)

Mic and Tara will be going to Anderson Elementary and because there is no VPK - Rori will be attending Rockledge Christian. She insists that she will miss me when she is at school and I told her she will have too much fun to miss mommy.

I would love to share some photos but Tim dropped the camera (twice) and it has gone on strike.
